Availability depends on your service configuration
1NPA is an internet-based communications service. Emergency calling availability can depend on the number, country, provider, account configuration, registered service address, network connectivity, device power, and whether the applicable emergency-calling feature has been activated for your workspace.
Do not assume emergency calling is active
Unless your dashboard and service documentation specifically confirm that emergency calling has been activated for a number, do not rely on 1NPA to reach emergency services. Keep an alternate means of contacting emergency services available, such as a mobile or landline service with confirmed emergency-calling capability.
Registered address
Where emergency calling is offered, you are responsible for providing and maintaining an accurate registered service address and for updating it when a number or user moves. Emergency responders may rely on this information.
Internet and power dependency
Internet-based calling may be unavailable during broadband outages, power failures, device failures, account suspension, or other network disruptions. Calls may also fail when a user is traveling if service configuration or location information is incomplete.
International limitations
Emergency-service functionality and dialing rules vary by country. A number that supports emergency calling in one country may not provide equivalent access elsewhere. Country availability must be verified before relying on the service.
